My love for rabbits started when I was only 5 years old and my mom brought home a pair of white rabbits to breed for meat. Well, needless to say they never did reached the dinner table. LOL We lived on two acres and had a small hobby farm. I enjoyed the out doors and was always keeping myself busy with my furry and feathery friends. All through my childhood and into my teens I have had rabbits. I continued to bring home a range of animals from snakes, lizards, caterpillars to a pair of Bantam chickens, rabbits, a goat and various cats and dogs. I even talked my dad into getting a pony for a short while. I started breeding and sell my rabbits at the age of eight and continued until my interested in boys and my social life grow a little stronger then the rabbits. I went on to get married and start a family. We always had cats and a dog in our lives but it wasn’t until my children became teenagers and a little more independent did my love for rabbits started to stir in me once again. In 2003 I was introduced to the wonderful world of ARBA and showing rabbits. I thought this would be a prefect hobby for me in my spare time.( Like I had any!! ) LOL. I have been breeding and showing rabbits ever since. I also run a Bunny Club called White Wock Wabbit Club. It came to my attention that there was a need for a rabbit club for the local school age children. I also volunteer at the Peace Arch Hospital and Senior Homes with my rabbits in a program called Fuzzy Friends & Company. Now my love for rabbits has blossomed into quite a BIG hobby. LOL |
