FAMILY SOCIAL EVENTS In the fall pumpkin hunt and carving with Dad or alternate family member.

SOCIAL OUTINGS I feel that it is very important for children to be introduced and be part of their outside environment. We may go on nature walks to explore. Trick or treating around the neighbourhood is a treat for the children and neighbours alike. Once a month I take companion animals  to Peace Arch Hospital for their Pets and Friends program. I post it on our monthly news letter and everyone is welcome to join me. This is a wonderful opportunity for the children to interact with the seniors who reside there. They can show  the seniors how to hold a guinea pig or a rabbit and also tell them a little something about themselves.

 We have a family Bar-B-Q in the summer with all the Daycare families. We do a number of activities and have a small graduation ceremony for the children that are leaving Peachtree. The children receive a graduation medal, small gift and their Peachtree plate that they made for snack and lunch time.

FAMILY SOCIAL EVENTS In the spring we will be celebrating Mother’s Day Tea with mom or alternate family member.
	The summer just would not be summer without the Family Bar-B-Q with face painting and games. It is so exciting for the children to all get together with their families and friends.

PET POLICY
I have a number of companion animals in my Daycare, small dogs, a cat, rabbits and guinea pigs. I feel very strongly about the importance of children learning to help look after a living creatures. The children will assist me socializing the rabbits and guinea pigs so that the animals will one day make great pets for other families. Your children will learn how to be gentle, patient and calm, qualities that are very important for children to possess. We have outside towels that the children put on their laps to hold the animal on and we wash our hands after handling the animals.

BIRTHDAYS  Birthdays are very important to children and we will celebrate them on the day or as close to the day as possible. Children may bring cupcakes that have been prepared with Mom/Dad, we will be icing and decorating the cupcakes at snack time.
	The child will make a Birthday Crown and receive a small birthday gift. The other children will be making a wonderful keepsake Birthday card with their names and a special picture.
